ABOUT US AND WHY WE CHOSE SUNJEL™
We are an Australian family owned company, based in Sydney and are the first to introduce Ventless Gel Fireplaces, Gelburners and Alcohol Gel products to Australia.
Although there are many manufacturers of Alcohol Gel and Ventless Gel Fireplaces worldwide, the most important aspect of these innovative products is the Gel. We chose Sunjel™ Gel. It is the only gel on the market to have gone through vigorous testing to be approved for safe indoor use as well as environmental approvals and it is the only Gel manufacturer which has products suitable for the Australian lifestyle such as Sunjel Citronella.
Health, safety, and environmental issues were paramount in our decision in choosing a suitable Gel for the Australian market.
Our criteria was:-
Health and Safety
- The Gel had to be certified safe for use indoors
- Verifiable Laboratory results had to be available from an internationally recognized laboratory.
- The Gel should not produce any smoke, soot or offensive smell.
Environmental issues
- The Gel had to be made from environmentally friendly products and from renewable resources only.
- It should not contain any fossil fuels, MIBK (Methyl Isobutyl Ketone) or non organic materials.
- It had to be biodegradable and water soluble.
Performance Criteria were:
- The Gel had to produce Golden/Orange flames, not bluish flames normally associated with Alcohol Gel.
- The Gel had to produce large full bodied flames, not weak or transparent flames.
- It had to have the same crackling sound as a burning log.
- It had to be easy to light and extinguish.
- It had to be 100% heat efficient.
Sunjel is the only product that not only met with our criteria, but exceeded it!
We are also very proud to have designed and manufactured a 'Canister Holder', an all Australian solution of converting standard garden pots into Gelburners.
To add more Australian element to our products, we have commissioned Australian craftsmen to design and make our Designer Range of timber mantles and also our range of Hebel Gelburners.
We are confident we have succeeded in offering an excellent product in SUNJEL, a product used in Ventless Gel Fireplaces since 1985 in U.S.A, Canada and U.K and several European countries. Sunjel has earned international recognition and respect for quality and performance and we are proud to be associated with such a product.
